Aligning executive pay with company objectives and clear performance goals is challenging in the best of times. Recent events have created an even greater focus on ensuring executive pay properly reflects performance over time and that executives do not reap large rewards today while companies suffer deep losses in the future. We provide the design expertise and judgment that helps companies attract and retain talent while ensuring that superior rewards are paired with top performance.

  • One of the largest global accounting firms wanted to integrate its businesses around a global operating model. We assisted this firm in defining the behaviors required by the new model and redesigned the partner pay plan to align with it. The result was a tighter relationship to business goals and the ability to differentiate pay with performance.
     
  • A bank owned fund of funds wanted to create a carried interest like incentive plan for their team that did not require the establishment of partnership interests. We designed a synthetic carried interest plan that provided the same incentive characteristics while still providing capital gains tax treatment. This plan enabled the bank to attract and keep the level of talent they needed in competition with traditional private equity and hedge funds.
